| The “Caller ID box” is empty even though the telephone is ringing? | The system using a Caller-ID facility to verify that the incoming call is coming from a specified phone number. Caller-ID is configured as part of the dial-in properties of the customer account. If the Caller-ID number of the incoming connection for that customer does not match any of the regular customers, then the caller is considered as a new customer. Caller-ID requires that the Caller's phone line, shop's phone line, system modem and software version all support Caller-ID. If a Caller-ID is configured for a user account and the caller-ID is not being passed from the caller to the modem, then the system will display a message "The telephone box is empty". Caller-ID is a feature designed to provide a higher degree of security for regular and new customers who agreed to be identified by their home telephone number. |
